Bell by Sanam

Here's the start of what I hope will become a series of more regular posts highlighting tunes and albums I like. I have posted music before, which you can find on the Music page, but only sporadically.

This tune comes care of a sunny evening of music curation by one Aaron Hawkins (esquire) at The Duck in Macandrew Bay. He still remains open and inquisitive in his music discovery despite abandoning his regular radio gig for local politics and parenting.

"Bell بل" by Beirut band "Sanam" off their 2023 album "Aykathani Malakon صنم - أيقظني ملاكٌ" is powerful and propulsive. The band is known for "blending Arabic poetry and traditional folk songs with psychedelic rock, krautrock, free jazz, and electronics" and this song contains all that.

Enjoy.
